For more than a decade
- Between 1972 and 1984 - the banks of the Paraná River were nearly a yard for fine reporting on the progress of construction of Itaipu.

The day May 31, 1880, a Monday, would be historic for the Lapa, as described by Joseph Savoy Cortes in an article published in December 1925 in the Gazette of the People.
On that date, to 18.30, after much anticipation and action by the community, came D. Pedro II, Empress Dona Teresa Cristina and her large entourage that in addition to several ladies, and maids of honor, still consisted of many distinguished personalities.

I remember when, for a time, the Souza attended the wheel mate back home on Sundays, where talk of politics out a constant.
It was an election year and Souza, stung by the blue fly, decided to apply for deputy.
Benedict was clear - campaign first timer without constituency consisted of work but redoubled, heart wished him good luck.
Souza bought a jeep.
Planned maps, itineraries.
Planned verbiage, promises and left the roads outside, behind the redoubts unexplored, fulfilling the arduous task which is imposed to garner votes.

The fact that I will describe happened to my grandfather Francisco, in Paulo Frontin.
Italian immigrant, in 1925 he moved to Curitiba Paulo Frontin, where he married Dona Italy widow who already had six children, taking with it three more.
Learned man, intelligent, good principles, soon won admiration, respect and confidence of the people of the city and surroundings.
