The Trail Judge
Alceu A. Sperança
It was not yet reached the time jaguncismo.
First half of the 50s, Muñoz Bento da Rocha Neto had to grant the status of Cascavel Municipality, emancipating it from Foz do Iguaçu.
Pioneering region, advanced front in the colonization of Paraná, Cascavel lived reign economic timber.
It was, however, a "city" feíssima. The county was created by force, imposed by Maripá, colonizing all the company-
Çoderosa who had settled in Oledo. And that the Legislature would not create the District of Toledo, in 1953, if not in Cascavel also be created.
The two, after all, were authorized by Judge José Muñoz de Mello, President of the Court of Justice of the State, so Solomonic.
In Toledo everything went according to plan.
That day July 9, 1954, Judge Cid Cimas Lamb assumed command of the District without a single incident.
But in Cascavel everything was different.
The installation ceremony of the Forum was scheduled for 14h. Judge Ignatius Pinto de Macedo, appointed by the Court to assume the direction of the district, landed the DC-3 aircraft, the Royal Aerovias, at 9am. Received with due honors by municipal authorities, the city was rehearsing a party, with the traditional barbecue of great occasions. The first judge Cascavel did a quick spin through the small town and without hesitation ordered transport your luggage back plane, whose return to Curitiba planned for 14h that same day and time specified for its possession.
Claiming that the weather was "too heavy", and embarked Macedo "escaped", leaving behind the party and barbecue.
Fears Macedo soon confirmed.
An early gunmen threatened to put on trial the judge resolutely death Aurelius Feijoo, substitute Macedo ahead of the District, sparing the prosecutor, himself a lawyer and jurors.
The weather was really "heavy". In one of the most frequented meeting places, a farmer threatened the enemy death, "service" would be completed drinking the blood of the dead. The threat was fulfilled to the letter, in public, quietly and confirmed by the author in the course of the trial.
By that time, a roughneck found disaffection within the Church of Santo Antônio and invited him to "die out there for the noise did not bother the saints."
A merchant Lydia Luchesa, very religious, put a crucifix in the hands of every body tumbled to death on the streets of Cascavel.
Its stock crucifix did not last long.
I had a little over two years ago when Councilman Adelino Cattani fell dead beside my mother, who was leading me by the hand, shot by an enemy.
Very few, considering the facts that followed, Dr. Macedo called the "cowardly". Besides the more his friends claim that he had been assigned to the district of Cerro Azul by a decree of July 2, 1954. Ie: more than one month before the installation of Rattlesnake County.
So the "leak" of the judge is an episode that makes the most dense part of the folklore of our "western" that the heroic story of the Judiciary Paraná.
