In 1918, was born in the parish of Vila Nova da Palmeira, José Antonio de Araujo and Camargo, son of Antonio Joaquim de Camargo and MathildeS Umbelina of Glory, the old Camargo, as it was known his father, a leading figure in both the Palm and in Guarapuava , where he was a pioneer.
The time was struggles, achievements, clearing hinterlands, all to be built in our Paraná. His brothers and sisters as their parents engaged in this daily toil, marry and establish their families were far corner of the home, one in Palmas, in other Guarapuava.
He and his sister Anna Maria, were in Palmeira.
It was young, when his older brother, Antonio de Camargo Sá (later Viscount Guarapuava) proposed his parents he was sent to São Paulo to study, since all the others have not had that opportunity, and he showed tendencies by ecclesiastical life.
Years passed and finally on December 8, 1848, assumes the Parish Priest of the Parish Camargo, crowned with success all the expectations of the family, who wanted to see their son and brother in front of the church. The joy was immense!
Life was usually when a beautiful Sunday to officiate the Mass, she noticed beautiful girl, unknown to all of the city.
The "Fraulein" white skin, blonde hair almost golden color Straw muho looked like a saint. The young girl awakened within him the desire, the passion lighting.
So I knew from the first time he saw her, that love had touched him, moved with his innermost feelings.
Gertrude (that was his name), his heart beating quickly, went to confession, not knowing exactly what to do.
Thereafter, count the confessional, was being the meeting point of the two.
That was how he met the intent of her parents in making your wedding with one of the boys of the colony of São Leopoldo - RS, son and friend since the trip from Germany to Brazil.
As she did not want this, had come with an uncle and two of his brothers to the 5th Province of São Paulo.
The groom, not conforming, came behind promised to formalize the link.
A few days before the wedding, she went to confession, which declared his love for the Father.
Then combined to escape to live together.
He hesitated ... and, at the last minute, celebrated the marriage of Gertrude with each other, starting a big party with a dance.
José Antonio heartbroken and seeing the sadness of the bride, on leaving confided that when everyone was entertained with the ball, would you seek.
At night, on horseback, approaching the house. There was Gertrude him to wait.
Taking her hand, help her to ride on his rump and covering him with a long hood, galloping run away from the house, to meet their targets.
This story - which seems unreal - happened in 1849 in the Parish of Palmeira and was the beginning of a great part of the family Camargo in Paraná. As for José Antonio Camargo, after starting that donned the cassock for six years and a family, for eleven years was president of the City Council (equivalent to mayor) of Palmeiras and other provincial deputy 18 years.
