Besides prestigious politician, David dos Santos Pacheco served as the High Command of the National Guard Paranaense adestrando volunteers for the Paraguayan War.

He was, in short, the most prominent drover Southern Brazil.
In his honor, the Lapa stands a monument to him in the current Manoel Pedro Avenue, traditional street Troops, corner through which the road that bears his name.
This monument, highlighted by a bust, guard the spoils of the Baron and Baroness, transferred the cemetery, as well as sepulchral inscription in marble, saying in low relief.
Coming in December, by the way, the Lapa will celebrate the centenary of the death of Baron of Campos Gerais.
